The BBC’s Natural History Unit is working on a 10-part series about Madagascar for the corporation’s children’s diginet CBBC.
Deadly Mission Madagascar (10×30′) will see adventurer Steve Backshall challenging a team of young people to carry out a conservation project on the island.
The series, which will air on CBBC next year, is aimed at teaching children about efforts to conserve the unique plant and animal life on the island.
The series was commissioned by outgoing controller of CBBC Damien Kavanagh before he joined Channel 4 as head of features and factual formats in March.
The programme is the latest in the BBC’s Deadly strand, following Live ‘n’ Deadly, Deadly 60, Deadly Top 10s and Deadly Art. The executive producer is Steve Greenwood.
