BBC’s Bucknole returns to Disney

The Walt Disney Company in the UK has hired BBC Children’s head of scheduling to replace Jonathan Boseley, who left his role as VP of programming and production in January.

Louise Bucknole left the BBC “a few weeks ago” to move to Disney UK, a spokeswoman at the corporation confirmed. Angela Griffith, a member of Bucknole’s former team, has replaced her as head of scheduling.

Bucknole was previously a senior programme manager for Disney between 2007 and 2009 but left to take on the scheduling post with the Beeb.

In her new job as Disney’s director of programming for the UK and Ireland, Bucknole will oversee programming for Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney Junior.

She fills the role left when Boseley exited the Mouse House after 13 years in January. His next move is currently under wraps.

Bucknole previously held a number of roles at UK commercial broadcaster ITV, including a two-year stint as channel editor and scheduler for kids’ channel CiTV.
