Best Friends travel to Benelux, Scandi

Children’s channels in Benelux and Scandinavia have acquired animated series BFF: Best Friends Forever from France’s AB International Distribution.

Nickelodeon has taken the show for the two European regions, in a deal comprising 74 seven-minute episodes, a 26-minute Christmas special, plus 15 shorts for the web. Victor Coolman, programming and acquisitions manager at Nickelodeon North Europe, said the show has “a unique voice and fits the Nickelodeon channels here very well.”

French channel CFI has also acquired the show for French-speaking Africa. Produced by Galaxy 7 and Blue Spirit, the series is currently airing on France3. Based on the comic book Pahe’s Life by Patrick Essono, the series is now sold in 59 countries.

The show follows the adventures of two best friends, one European and the other African, who learn about each other’s culture, despite often having misunderstandings and arguments.
