Amelia Dimoldenberg, the comedian and YouTuber behind web series Chicken Shop Date, is launching her own television production company and has already scored a commission from UKTV.

Dimz Inc will focus on making entertainment for younger audiences and aims to help bridge the gap between online content and traditional broadcasters.

Dimoldenberg’s first commission is Who Cares?, a shortform 6×8’ series for UKTV’s comedy network Dave to air on its YouTube channel. The vox pop-style series will take to the streets to find out who, if anyone, cares about issues ranging from billionaires to the UK borders.

The series was commissioned by Mark Iddon for UKTV, with development from Natalie Rose. It will premiere on Dave’s YouTube channel on June 18 and new episodes will be made available weekly.”

The move marks a new chapter in Dimoldenberg’s career as she adds producing content for third parties to her repertoire, alongside running her own popular YouTube channel.

Dimoldenberg has almost 100,000,000 views to her name, with Chicken Shop Date regularly attracting an audience of more than a million to watch guest stars including Maya Jama, Sean Paul and Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall.

“Making Chicken Shop Date and Amelia’s Cooking Show taught me how to make shows that people love to come back to,” said Dimoldenberg. “YouTube allowed me to learn the craft of making filmed entertainment for a culturally curious audience and to do it without compromise. Dimz Inc will focus on comedic content led by women for digital and on-screen talent. It will also aim to simplify and enhance the process between content creators (such as myself), broadcasters and commercial partners.”
